El Rey Theater

Renovate meets Thursday nights at 7:30 PM at Calvary Nob Hill at the Lobo Theater.

Loving GOD and living for HIS fame.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:2).

Renovate is a weekly gathering of college-age youth, which meets at Calvary Nob Hill at the Lobo Theater every Thursday night at 7:30 PM, to seek the heart of God. It is our desire to follow hard after God and allow Him to totally transform us from the inside out. Our aim is to be INTIMATE with God, INVOLVED with other believers, and IMPARTING the gospel to the lost.

There are many opportunities for you to get involved in helping out at Renovate. From serving coffee to being a small group leader. Whatever the Lord leads you to, know that we are stoked about the possibility to team with you to serve college-age youth across our city.

About Pastor Nate Heitzig

Nathan Heitzig was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was raised there for the majority of his youth. He grew up as a pastor's kid, went to church weekly, and always assumed he was a Christian because of that. By the time he entered high school, church and God were no longer fun but rather a chore. He would go to church and put on the Christian mask, but it lacked meaning. Little did he know, God would soon get his attention and Nate would never be the same.

One summer, Nate had the chance to go on a mission trip to Scotland. It seemed like a fun trip, so he decided to go. While attending a training camp in Murrieta, California, he was encouraged by longtime friend and mentor Levi Lusko to stop living a lukewarm life and be filled with the Spirit. It was during this time that Nathan truly felt the joy of the Lord in his life, and from that point he was hooked. Several years later, he moved to Orange County, California, where he graduated from Calvary Chapel High School and attended Saddleback College. During this time he volunteered as an assistant in the high school ministry until Levi Lusko, then a pastor on staff, offered him a full-time position. During that year and a half, Nathan learned more then he could have ever expected, as he was given opportunities to teach the students and lead various youth retreats and missions trips. In August 2005, Nathan had a chance to go to India to speak at churches and colleges across the country; it was truly a life-changing trip.

In December 2006, Nathan felt the Lord calling him back to his hometown to take a position as Assistant High School Youth Pastor for Vertical Student Ministries. After serving as the assistant for eight months, he was offered the position of High School Youth Pastor, where he served for three years. Nate then took the position as the Director of Student Ministries and Pastor of Renovate College Age Minitry, where he currently teaches.

In 2008 he married his wife, JanaĆ©. Nate and JanaĆ© are the proud parents of Seth and Kaydence.  Nate enjoys snowboarding, surfing, bicycling, and teaching the Word of God. As he looks back on all that God has done, he is thrilled to see what the Lord has in store for the future. "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
